The Kite Runner

A fascinating historical film is based on an international bestseller, set in Afghanistan in 1978. Amir (Zekiria Ebrahimi) and Hassan (Ahmed Khan Mohmoodzada) were young boys in Kabul and were excellent in kite competitions. Amir and his father, Baba (Homayoun Ershadi) escaped to the United States where the adult Amir (Khalid Abadalla) meets Soraya (Atossa Leoni), then wants to return to his homeland to make things right for his friend Hassan. The Bucket List

Edward Cole (Jack Nicholson), a billionaire hospital administrator, and Carter Chambers (Morgan Freeman), an auto mechanic, end up sharing a hospital room. Both have been diagnosed with cancer. They make a list of things to accomplish before they "kick the bucket." Rob Reiner directs the adventures of the two in their pursuit of doing what they always wanted to do. Juno

Juno MacGuff (Ellen Page) is 16-years-old and pregnant by boyfriend Bleeker (Michael Cera) but has her own viewpoints on the situation. She and a girlfriend Leah (Olivia Thirlby) search the Internet to find the right parents for the unborn child. They think Mark (Jason Bateman) and his wife (Jennifer Garner) would be ideal. No Country For Old Men

Written by the Coen Brothers, the story is a challenge to see which is the good boy and which is the bad. Cast includes Tommy Lee Jones, Josh Brolin, Woody Harrelson, and Javier Bardem in a setting of the dry area of west Texas. (R) (Main St. Cinemas)
